I am Giang Nguyen Duc, a senior Ruby on Rails developer have been working with Rails for 4 years based in Hanoi, Vietnam. Very familiar with Rails 4.x/3.x/2.x, Ruby 2.2, 2.1, 1.9.x, 1.8.x, CoffeeScript, jQuery/Prototype, HAML, SASS, FB Connect, FB App, Twitter API, MySQL/SQLite3, Git/SVN, have experiences working on Joyent Node.js, Linode server, Github, Heroku, OAuth, deploying Rails app to Bluehost, GoDaddy, Justhost… Also do good design job using Photoshop. My slogan is “Precision, Reliable, Fast”
I have some favorite gems such as: Devise + Cancan + Omniauth (for authentication system), jquery-rails, formtastic, meta_search and meta_where, will_paginate or kaminari (for pagination), Carrierwave or Paper_clip (file_column when I was with Rails 2) + Fog + Rmagick for files uploading… etc
I like to use Unfuddle, Pivotal, Basecamp, Lighthouse for managing projects. I like Unfuddle the most as its layout, its way to handle tickets are easy to use, easy to see. Pivotal, Basecamp, Lighthouse are good, too.
Using Heroku for deploying projects during both development and production. I find this is the best way for development: we don’t have to setup the environments, don’t have to care about the server is live or not (as Heroku always try to keep them all alive)
Using Github to store my codebase, this is really a good place for source control purpose as well as finding good gems.
